Affiliate Disclosure

Kyoto Journey (kyotojourney.com) is a personal Kyoto travel blog written and run by Sho. This page explains, in plain terms, how affiliate links are used on this site.

What are affiliate links?

Some links on this site — for example, links to accommodation, tours, activities, or travel gear — are affiliate links. If you click through and make a booking or purchase, I may earn a small commission from the company involved, at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is exactly the same whether or not you use my link.

Affiliate programs used on this site

This site currently participates in, or may in the future participate in, affiliate programs for travel-related services such as accommodation booking platforms (for example Booking.com), activity and tour booking platforms (for example Klook or Viator), and other travel products relevant to visiting Kyoto and Japan. This list may change as the site grows.

Why I use affiliate links

Researching, writing, and maintaining Kyoto Journey takes real time, and hosting the site costs money. Affiliate commissions help cover these costs and support the continued creation of free, practical Kyoto travel guides.

Editorial independence

Affiliate income never determines what I recommend. I only link to accommodations, tours, and services I would genuinely suggest to a friend visiting Kyoto, based on my own experience living here. If something isn’t good, I won’t recommend it just because it has an affiliate program.

How this relates to your data

Clicking an affiliate link takes you to a third-party website, which may use its own cookies or tracking to record that a referral came from this site. See the Privacy Policy page for more detail on cookies and third-party sites.
